My Temerarious Ways Of life:
As I mention in one of my post, That an old friend of mine wrote me and ask, What is prison like? In his second letter my old friend wrote And said,Amongst other things, Look at you now, You have wasted your life! It seemed to me he was trying to taunting me. Or atleast trying to make me feel bad about myself.
I have so many regrets I can’t even count them, I don’t need someone to judge or critize me for my life decision ,it has already been self-imposed!!But this is what I have to say to my old friend. I have only in my life carried to an extreme what you have not dared to carry halfway, And whats more, you have taken your cowardize for good sense and have found comfort in deceiving yourself. So that perhaps, after all there is more life in me than ever in you..
Of course, there a dark side to my old friend, when we get so foused on our rules that we turn them into decrees about how life ” should ” be and label people as good or bad if they don’t follow the rules.I understood that the rules aren’t absolute, I started to learn to think outside the box and live beyond limits imposed on me.
The rules are so strong , so self- reinforcing that it convices us that life must unfold in a particular way. Thats fine for my old friend if you like to live a regular safe life. There’s nothing wrong with that, The problem happens when ” safety ” gives rise to boredom and eventually stagnation.
For most people growth slows down when we start to get older and eventually leads to a creeping boring stagnation , I.E marriage, careers, staying health, personal growth. Living a safe life is overrated and for me that means that playing it safe is more likely just holding us back from the thrills of a life filled with meaning and discovery.
Give me thr thrill and excitement of the unsafe,rule-breaking,dogma-questioning life anytime over the boring unfolding of a safe life. I’m NOT talking about getting rid of moral and ethical standards, I’m talking about long-held habits and irrational self-Judgments. We follow dangerously unhealthy rules merely because of mimetics and social conditioning.
Beliefs that don’t serve our happiness, but that feel as if they reflect an accepted and inescaple ways of life.
For people trying to make you feel guilty for going your own way and choosing your own life are simply saying, Look at me, I’m better than you, or they are just trying to make themselves feel better about who they are.. It takes courage to define your own life. To dare to live your life to the fullest, belong true to yourself, with an open heart and a thoughtful mind. To have courage to change what does’nt work and accept the consequences.
You just might find that you can go farther than you ever could of imagined. Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent being miserable.. THE GREATEST TRAVESTY IN LIFE IS NOT TO LIVE IT…
